WELCOME BACK

Hello friends and followers! Long time no speak.
Let’s be real, my oversees adventures have taken a hiatus since my college graduation back in 2018. Now, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been exploring! It just means I haven’t been exploring in my usual “let’s hop across the pond – get on a plane – never come back kind of way.”
I have been on a quite a few mini trips spanning from The Big Apple (HELLO NYC) to see a show on Broadway…

15 year old me fan-girling over the fact that Cody Simpson was the lead man.

to Asheville, NC to sit in a double-decker coffee bus and sip on lavender lattes…

Just one of many hair style changes. My Pulp Fiction look as I liked to call it.

to my home in California for my annual camping trip to Bass Lake (a long-standing family tradition of 58 years)…

Sunsets overlooking the lake are my favorite. Bass Lake is my happy place.

and most recently, to Wilmington, NC for a much needed coastal retreat…

The boardwalk was stunning! Plus there was ice cream around every turn.

Why didn’t I write about all this you ask?
Well, the only reasons I have are that 1. I’m lazy 2. I didn’t feel like these trips were my typical travel blog aesthetic and 3. Working a 40+ hour/week adult job really crushes one’s soul.
On that note, LIFE UPDATE: I am currently working a TV news job at WBTV in Charlotte, NC.

A picture of all the UNC Chapel Hill grads that work at the station.

It is still very strange being stationed in one city and officially following a career path – hence why my travel writing has hit a lull.
Well not anymore!
I have taken it upon myself to start documenting my explorations more – even if the destinations are no further than my own backyard.
Coming up soon: My first time picking pumpkins off the vine, the best tequila I’ve ever tasted and a local winery with some of the best port wine!
Stay tuned! xx
